You can sponsor certain relatives to come to Canada if you’re at least 18 years old and either a Canadian Citizen, PR or registered as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act.
Sponsoring spouse or dependent children:
As a Sponsor, you must be financially stable and prove you can support the family financially. Family member must not need social assistance from the government. You must be living in Canada to sponsor your partner or dependent child. There is no income requirement. If you live in Quebec, your income will be assessed by the Quebec ministry.
Spouse must be over 18 and legally married. Dependent children must be under 22 years old and are not married or in common-law relationship. Dependent child must also be financially dependent.
Sponsoring Parents and Grandparents:
You can submit interest to sponsor your parents and grandparents if you are Canadian Citizen or PR. You must submit your NOA for three years immediately preceding the date of your application.
Sponsoring relatives:
You can only sponsor relatives like a brother, sister, aunt, or uncle in very specific situations. If you do not have a living relative you could sponsor instead, you can sponsor one of your relatives related to you by blood or adoption of any age.
